At Capone’s, we focus on you!
Themes
1920's/1930's Gangster
Step into the exciting world of gangsters, bank robbers, shootouts, and getaways. Show the world that your family rivals the families of Corleone, Capone, Soprano, Gambino & Shelby. For the ladies we have sexy flapper dresses, garters, headbands, jaunty hats, feather boas and elegant jewelry. For the fellows we have zoot suits, Fedoras, Tommy guns, Colt 1911’s, baseball bats, and a sawed-off shotgun. We have bank bags and satchels of cash and coin.
Old West Saloon & Honky-Tonk Piano (1865-1895)
Gallop back in time into an Old West Honky-Tonk Saloon with an upright piano, longhorn bar, wanted posters and spittoons. For the cowboys we have dusters, 10-gallon hats, boots and neckerchiefs or western bow ties. For the gals, we have flashy show girl dresses, chokers, boas and feathers for the hair. We have pistols with holsters, rifles, shotguns, and a Derringer or two for the ladies.
1950's Diner & Ice Cream Shoppe
Coming into the 50’s, we have now entered an era where kids can be kids just a while longer and have a bit of time to spend hanging out at the ice cream parlour and scandalizing their parents dancing to the newly minted “rock & roll”. For the first time both fashion and music are being geared toward teenagers. Academics and college education is coming forward and all the cool kids have made high school letter jackets and varsity sweaters were all the rage. Wanna-be bad boys popularized blue jeans and leather jackets. Girls are seen wearing dresses or blouses with a fitted bodice with full swinging skirts, including the super cute poodle skirts. Channel your inner Elvis, James Dean and Marilyn Monroe and join us at Peggy Sue’s Diner for an ice cream sundae and a little Rock & Roll.
Classic Victorian
While the Victorian era spans several decades and saw many styles and fashions come and go, we are focusing on the end of the era near the turn of the century. The large hoops and voluminous skirts have given way to a much slimmer silhouette. Sleek and streamlined with an almost businesslike feel. Men’s eveningwear has evolved to the tuxedo style with tales that remains in fashion today. Finished off with a top hat, the Victorian Gentleman is now ready to take his lady out for an evening on the town.
Civil War
Stroll into a nostalgic antebellum parlor with lace window dressing and beautiful fireplace. Southern Belles wear full round skirts with hoops, lace and ruffles, big, beautiful hats and carry fans and parasols. Soldiers from the Union and the Confederacy can be found to be their escorts, from bugle boy to generals.
Frontier Log Cabin (1600-1890)
Welcome to our humble authentic frontier cabin with roughhewn logs, antlers, bear skins, and an antique Round Oak woodstove. The fashion of the frontier was sturdy clothing made from materials that were naturally available, and what they brought with them to the frontier. Animal skins and furs were the trend of the day. Women wore loose sturdy clothing that they could work in, no ladies of leisure here. Aprons were used to protect their clothing, and bonnets and mob caps to protect their hair. Furs and skins that were trapped and caught during the year were traded for materials that couldn’t be hunted, grown or made.
Hillbilly Hoedown
Having chosen to live off the land and with what they could provide for themselves, the hi’billy family took to the mountains and became the ultimate recyclers, reusing everything from clothing to equipment, to their neighbor’s trash. They had no need for stylish clothing, pairing found finery with patched clothing and repaired footwear. As civilization modernized around them, the people of the hills were seeming left behind having no need for all that new-fangled stuff. Left to their own devices, they created music from instruments that they pieced together from everyday things they had lying around. Occasionally they would feel social and invite the neighbors over to a shindig called the Hillbilly Hoedown.
Western Bathhouse
Before modern plumbing, a bath with hot water could be purchased at the local saloon/guest house, or at a traditional bathhouse utilizing the various hot springs that were available in the old west. Our bathhouse is set in an authentic log cabin with an antique Round Oak stove for warmth and hot water. Cowboys and Bathing Beauties use our facilities to clean up and just have a good time. Cowboys will always be found with their hat and a pistol, and Bathing Beauties have a selection of bathing costumes, or may simply wrap up in a towel.
Vaqueros
While not exactly authentic, we take some of America’s favorite components of fashion from our southern neighbors, the Mexicanos. Mariachi hats and colorful ponchos and vests for our Vaqueros, and vibrant traditional dresses from different parts of Mexico for the senioritas.
Pirates
Sail the high seas on Capone’s pirate ship, the sloop Public Enemy #1. Hang out in the Captain Capone’s cabin where the chest full of looted treasure can be found. Whiskey barrels, Caribbean rum and a parrot named Pete are part of the experience on the Public Enemy. Become a famous historical pirate, or a fictious one, we have costumes for all. Pirate fashion includes buccaneer shirts, trousers and vests, eye patches, sabers and tricornered hats. For the wenches we have pirate maiden dresses with lace up corsets and waist cinchers, scull scarves and swashbuckler hats.
Steampunk
Steampunk is a fictional fantasy era set in the Victorian era or the American “Wild West”, it is an alternative history blends futuristic technology and aesthetics with the industrial steam powered machinery of the 19th century. Limited only by your own imagination, we use costume pieces from multiple themes to create the look that you envision. Accessorized with pilot styled googles and retro-futuristic weapons, you have your choice of multiple set for this theme.
Witches
Thru the ages there have been witches and stories of witches. An entity with supernatural powers and the ability to alter their surroundings with spells and hexes. While we aren’t sure we believe in them, we don’t wish to ager them and have them turn their powers on us. Formal attire for the Warlocks, and long, dark, and flowy dresses for the witches, accessorized with pointy hats. With a cauldron to cook up their spells and potions, broom sticks and a variety of creepy things, make the witches coven complete.
Vampires
European folklore tells a tale of an undead creature that feasts on the vital essence of the living. Hunting only at night, perhaps these were stories recited to children to keep them home at night, or maybe you have just been lucky…. We have dark formal attire for our blook thirsty friends, including top hats and long flowy capes. We have a variety of headstones to commemorate the ones who succumbed to the undead.
Wedding & Engagement
Wedding happened in all eras, and we are excited to help you create the wedding of your old-time dreams. Shotgun weddings, Gangster weddings, and Victorian weddings are the most popular. We have recreated engagements, and we have had the question popped during a photo session. We are so honored when we are given the opportunity to be part of such a significant part of your life.
Babies
We love to take baby pictures. From infants to toddlers, we can include your small children in your group portrait session, or they can have their own session. No matter what theme you choose, we will dress your child accordingly and give you amazing memories.
Pets
Pets can be included in all the themes, with or without their people. Some pets will let us add a few accessories, and some will not. We love including your furry family members in your portraits.
Christmas
A seasonal theme, we set up a beautiful Christmas tree in our Victorian parlor during November and December. Victorian Christmas or Civil War Christmas are old time favorites, but we also offer a selection of Christmas sweaters and pajamas. If you are looking for a more traditional modern Christmas portrait, you can come dressed in your own holiday finery and have beautiful portraits made.
Santa comes to visit several times on the weekends for mini sessions with a variety of digital images so that you can create your own personalized Christmas cards.
Whatever you envision for your family Christmas pictures, you can be assured that we will do our best to accommodate you.
